In 2021, it became the first brand in the sex doll industry to implement weight reduction technology for TPE and silicone dolls, achieving what was at the time an industry-leading level of both weight compression itself and maintaining the quality of the doll's body, which caused a great deal of buzz at the time and was well received by a wide range of sex doll enthusiasts.
So in early 2022, the STARPERY W.R. team was formed, independent of the factory group, and began R&D testing in a small room, focusing on how to reduce weight and related topics.
However, As with 2 sides of the coin, but when weight reduction techniques were applied to production, we found that weight reduction was difficult to standardize, resulting in some dolls being a bit stiff or heavy. The weight loss data is not fixed or steadily decreasing, it is floating data.
After further testing and research, it found that:
If choosing a softer W.R. foam core, the heavier silicone/TPE material (weighing up to 25kg) will severely squeeze the foam core during casting, resulting in a stiffer foam core and worse weight reduction.
Choosing the harder W.R. foam core, the doll will be much lighter but less soft.
How to better control and balance these two aspects? This contradiction has been plaguing the W.R. 3.0 weight reduction technology.
Therefore, STARPERY's R&D team is determined to find a better way to solve this contradiction! To be able to make weight reduction and standardized production reach a fixed relationship so that this technology can be accurately and truthfully applied to STARPERY dolls.
Of course, the whole process of exploration and research is boring and requires constant testing and analysis in the laboratory.
Based on the analysis of our previous production experience, it is necessary to reduce the extrusion of TPE/silicone material on the W.R. core during the casting production process.
STARPERY tried various methods until the Nth method they still haven't found a better, more effective and standardized way to achieve it. Then fell into skepticism, to the point of thinking that achieving effective weight loss and big softness was itself an irreconcilable contradiction.
In early 2023, the W.R. team began using a new method. By improving the foam core mold, the error between the skeleton and the inner core, as well as the unevenness of the skin and the lack of material in the body were reduced.
At the same time, the thickness of the doll's skin was controlled by controlling the thickness of the foam core.
The doll skeleton + foam core + doll mold is molded in one piece!
Through these improvements, we finally made a more satisfactory 172 body. This one is about 5.3 kilograms lighter than the W.R. 3.0 body and has a more realistic softness.
Although STARPERY got more satisfactory results in the lab, there was still a big gap when it came to mass production. The defective rate has been a challenge for Super Weight Reduction.
Moreover, STARPERY wanted to minimize the mold line, so it kept modifying the mold again.
Restore the mold to the original design, but add openings in the foot area to hold the skeleton and make rigid feet.
Further, reduce the thickness of the foam core and allow a certain amount of silicone material to exert pressure on it for better results. During the casting process, it purchased a new machine to assist in standardizing production.
In July, after tested two dolls, 172cm and 151cm. With the W.R.4.0, these two dolls are much lighter:
172cm weight can be reduced from 35+kg (W.R. 3.0) to 29kg.
151cm body weight can be reduced from 25kg (W.R. 3.0) to about 19kg.
Moreover, they are incredibly soft.
The entire silicone doll is solidly soft, not only the surface of the skin is soft, but the whole is soft, even squishy.
The birth of W.R.4.0 and the continuous improvement also make STARPERY believe that we can solve the contradiction between softness and weight. But more time is needed to continue optimizing and improving. Especially with the effects of adding these extra options: heating, moaning, clamping and pumping, gel ass, etc.
At the beginning of 2024, it will first release the 172cm & 151cm, and the other bodies will be gradually opened up after testing is complete.
Due to the complexity of the modification process of the old molds, the process has reduced some body details. But STARPERY will still try our best to bring you even better pieces, balancing weight and quality.
